Item ESTATE SURVEYING, VALUATION, EDUCATION AND PRACTICE IN ANAMBRA STATE: CHALLENGES FACED BY FEMALE PROFESSIONAL PRACTITIONERS(International Journal of Civil Engineering, Construction and Estate Management, 2020-09-01) Ifediora, C.O.; Odimegwu, C. N; Efobi, D.JProfessional practice especially in Estate Surveying and Valuation industry no doubt has its challenges and there is an increasing quest to survive by both the male and female practitioners in Nigeria. However, it appears the females are finding the practice of the profession more challenging than their male counterparts. This study however looked at the challenges faced by female Estate Surveyors and Valuers (ESV) in the public and private sectors of the industry in Anambra State. Primary data were collected and analysed using simple tables and percentages. Challenges identified include; difficulty in balancing work and family lives, the inability to attend to assignments outside the town at short notice and lack of marital support. The study recommended that efforts should be made to encourage more women, attract them into practice, also into educational sector, give more opportunities to them for research and more importantly discourage sexual harassment.Item Multidisciplinary approach and consensus of opinions: necessary options for curbing challenges affecting private real estate project implementation success(Academic Leadership (Online Journal ), 2020-06-06) Ifediora, C.O.; Efobi, D.JThere has been growing concern on the need for multidisciplinary approach as well as consensus in tacking identified factors affecting private real estate projects implementation success, in a bit to tackle the above the study identified factors that affects private real estate project implementation success, in addition it noted that there is tussle amongst various professionals on who is best to handle implementation private real estate projects, and that several reasons where largely responsible for lack of consensus in the opinion of relevant professionals which includes their level of experience in the industry, level of education and training as well as lack of adequate knowledge of sisters-professions role in real estate project implementation in the industry. The work also determined the extent to which absence of consensus on the factors that affect implementation success. In the statistical analysis done using one-way ANOVA it was discovered that there was statistical difference in the opinion of real estate professional with regards to the impact of the identified factors on private real estate project implementation success. The recommended a synergy amongst the professional this will help to appreciate the multidisciplinary nature of the real estate industry.
