dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this article is to report on the research that explored the factors that contributed to the research success of young librarians: motivation, e-resources and iT infrastructural facilities, coping strategies, number of articles published among others. The research design was adopted for the study. The questionnaire was the instrument used to collect data from 106 librarians in the South-west region of Nigeria. The questionnaire consisted of two sections on demographics and issues related to research activities of young academic librarians respectively. The 106 responses (100%) were processed, analyzed, and the results are presented herein. The librarians reported that peer group support and institutional support (53.8%) as major motivation factors for research, and have published a number of articles.
